This site is intended for healthcare professionals as a useful source of information on the diagnosis, treatment and support of patients with lupus and related connective tissue diseases.
LUPUS UK is the only national registered charity supporting people with systemic lupus (SLE) and discoid lupus (DLE) and assisting those approaching diagnosis. We presently have over 7,000 members and 30 Regional Groups who arrange medical talks, publish local newsletters, arrange social and fundraising events. LUPUS UK publishes a national magazine 'News & Views' three times a year with medical articles, letters, reports and photographs and operates a Grant Programme for research and other purposes.
LUPUS UK is keen to spread knowledge and information about lupus as widely as possible, not only to the general public but also the medical and associated professions. The guides on this website have been written by specialists in their field and we hope that you will find this site an easy point of reference and the contents useful and informative. The site will continue to grow as further publications and research papers are added. LUPUS UK has contacts with many eminent lupus specialists throughout the UK.
